Welcome to our homework page. In the interest of keeping homework simple and effective, homework will consist of two activities that will remain consistent throughout the year. Spelling words will be sent home each Monday. Homework is due the following Monday.
1. Daily home reading: Your child will receive home readers that will need to be signed off by a proficient reader in order for these books to be changed. We expect that your child reads to an experienced reader on a daily basis.
2. Spelling activities: Your child will receive a short list of spelling words that they will use to complete various spelling activities throughout the week. We ask that FOUR spelling activities are completed during each homework period. The grid below will be glued into your child's homework book. They can choose which four activities they will complete each week. We are also happy for your child to create their own activity, as long as they have written their words out at least four times.
If you wish to practice additional maths skills with your child at home, you can find relevant yr 2 resources under the Learning Links tab of this blog. There is also a link to our Numeracy and Enrichment website (Mrs Gambley's blog). This will take you to a plethora of online mathematics games, as well as the infamous Weekly Challenge. No set mathematics homework will be issued. These resource links are provided to use at your discretion.
