Term One, Week Six

The week ahead promises to be an exciting one!  This week marks the start of our Easter celebrations with Shrove (pancake) Tuesday and Ash Wednesday.  I can't wait to see what your cherubs come up with for their Lenten promises!

What’s On?

  • Our Library day is Monday.  Remember to bring in books for changing or renewing. Bags are essential! Even a plastic shopping bag.  The Library Bag Challenge is on and we are contenders!

  • Homework will be sent home on Monday.  It is to be returned the following Monday.  Keep up the excellent daily reading up! 

  •  Shrove (pancake) Tuesday.  Bring along a gold coin to purchase a pancake.  All proceeds go to our CARITAS appeal.

  • Ash Wednesday.  Prep - Year Two will attend an Ash Wednesday liturgy where a palm ash cross will be placed on each child's forehead.  We will make Lenten promises in class on this day.

Literacy Focus
Sound: ‘d’ as in dog, 'dd' as in huddle.
Reading Genre: Information texts.
Writing Genre: Main idea and recount.
Comprehension strategy: Main idea, Prediction & retell.

Mathematics Focus
Counting forwards and backwards to 100 in 2s, 5s and 10s.

Time: O'clock and half-past.

The Easter Story.

Term One, Week Five

The week ahead promises to be an enlightening one!  We are well on our way to having a completely constructed classroom.  Our carpet wall is up - time for more pretty displays! Stay tuned for construction updates!

What’s On?

  • It's excursion week!!!  Don't forget to wear formal school uniform on Thursday for our excursion to Maye's Cottage.

  • Our Library day is Monday.  Remember to bring in books for changing or renewing. Bags are essential! Even a plastic shopping bag.  The Library Bag Challenge is on and we are contenders!

  • This week Mrs Robson and Mrs D are swapping around teaching days to accommodate an appointment of Mrs D's. Mrs D will be teaching on Monday, Tuesday and Friday.  Mrs Robson will be teaching on Wednesday and Thursday.

Term One, Week Four


The week ahead promises to be a fulfilling one!  We are well on our way to having a completely constructed classroom.  Doors and carpet boards should have been completed over the weekend.  Stay tuned for construction updates!

  • We have our first Sacred Singing lesson with Miss Kelly on Monday, be prepared to be serenaded on the way home!

  • Our Library day is Monday.  Remember to bring in books for changing or renewing. Bags are essential! Even a plastic shopping bag.  The Library Bag Challenge is on and we are contenders!

  • Homework will be sent home on Monday.  It is to be returned the following Monday.  Keep up the excellent daily reading up! 

  • We have our whole-school welcome Mass in Siena, this Wednesday at 9am.  All are welcome.

Term One, Week Three



The week ahead promises to be a thrilling one!  We will continue to learn special life lessons about the types of skilled professionals who install glass doors, Interactive TVs, whiteboards and much, much more!

What’s On?

  • We have our first Sacred Singing lesson with Miss Kelly on Monday, be prepared to be serenaded on the way home!

  • Library lessons will commence this week.  Our Library day is Monday.  Please send in a bag for borrowing before then.

  • Homework will be sent home on Monday.  It is to be returned the following Monday.  Keep up the excellent daily reading up!  We have been very impressed by your efforts so far.

  • Our parent information evening is this Wednesday.  See you in the Year 2 rooms at 6pm or 7pm, depending on which session suits you.  The same information will be discussed at both sessions.  You will not need to attend twice.  Specific classroom to be advised. Whole school direction for 2017 led by Nick in Siena at 6.30pm.
